Isolde Frey was born in 1961 in Ellwangen/Jagst, Germany. After her apprenticeship as a silkscreenprinter, she studied social and business communication at the Berlin University of the Arts. She gathered valuable work experience during her employment as a project assistent in the Direct Marketing department at IBM Stuttgart and in her long-term engagement at MetaDesign Berlin, where she managed projects, the production process and teams. During this time she worked as a project manager and team-leader. Since 2003 she has been managing Moniteurs GmbH, together with Heike Nehl and Sibylle Schlaich – Communication Design. She has also taught Marketing at the Career & Transfer Centre at the University of Arts, Berlin, and at Life e.V. Berlin.
Sibylle Schlaich studied visual communication at “hfG- College for Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd“ and at Berlin University of the Arts. She gathered work experience while studying at Otl Aicher in Rotis, at GGK Agency in Frankfurt a. M., at AV-Studios in Stuttgart and at Henry Steiner in Hong Kong. She was employed by Meta Design in Berlin before she founded Moniteurs together with Heike Nehl and Heidi Specker. Since 2003 she has been managing Moniteurs GmbH, together with Heike Nehl and Isolde Frey. She has also taught at the „Fachhochschule Bielefeld“ (University of Applied Sciences), at the School of Arts and Design Halle, and at the Bauhaus-University in Weimar.
Heike Nehl studied visual communication at Bielefeld College (Applied Sciences), at the Department of Design. After her studies she worked at MetaDesign in Berlin, where her working focus was book and catalogue design, as well as information design. Working abroad, she gained valuable experience at Meta West in San Francisco, USA. In 1994, together with Sibylle Schlaich and Heidi Specker, she founded Moniteurs – Association for Digital and Analogue Media Design. Since 2003 she has been managing Moniteurs GmbH, together with Heike Nehl and Isolde Frey. She has also taught at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin and at the Bauhaus-University in Weimar.
