In autumn of 2009, the legendary “Moskau” on the Karl-Marx-Allee, Berlin reopened after an extensive reconstruction as an exclusive event-location. For the restaurant’s grand opening ceremonial in 1964 an original sized sputnik was affixed, a present from the USSR-ambassador. This sculpture was also source for the development of the key visual. The colours grey and lilac were chosen for their airiness and lightness, reflecting the of the building’s architecture. In order to interconnect the corporate identity with the atmosphere of the place, the same colour scheme was also adapted to the interior design.

The sign on the building once again reflects the building’s original state. The new logo type was based on this typography.

The logo is used to make the glass more visible and thus prevent people from walking into it.
