Architecture and pictograms

Summer semester at the University of Hannover

How can a message be conveyed with signs without language and text? Sibylle Schlaich teaches again at the Institute of Design. Pictograms are not only applied to the finished structure, but also help in the planning phases to communicate and present functions or processes. The students explore what pictorial signs convey alongside the content: an identity, belonging to a building, a company, a time or even a country.
