The new head­quar­ters of Aachen­Münch­ener In­sur­ance cap­ti­vates vis­i­tors through its open ar­chi­tec­ture. A glass bridge con­nects the dif­fer­ent parts of the build­ing and leaves room for a pedes­trian zone and shops. This en­hances the over­all ur­ban at­trac­tive­ness and also serves the par­tic­u­lar de­mands placed upon it by the var­i­ous groups of users, i.e. the clients of Aachen­Münch­ener and its sup­pli­ers. Moni­teurs adopted the ba­sic con­cept of the fa­cade by de­riv­ing the shape, ma­te­r­ial and colour of the ori­en­ta­tion sys­tem columns di­rectly from it: tall rec­tan­gles hold the in­for­ma­tion, but nev­er­the­less al­low a view of the build­ing be­hind. This is com­ple­mented by dis­creet signs placed di­rectly onto the Aachen­Münch­ener build­ing.

The FIZ Re­search and In­no­va­tion Cen­tre in Mu­nich is the heart of the world­wide re­search and de­vel­op­ment net­work of the BMW Group. Built in 1986, the area has grown con­sid­er­ably, ex­pand­ing into the sur­round­ing ur­ban space and be­com­ing more com­pact in or­der to pro­vide space for the ap­prox­i­mately 25,000 peo­ple who work there. In 2015, HENN de­vel­oped a mas­ter­plan to of­fer a vi­sion up to the year 2050. More trans­par­ent, bet­ter com­mu­ni­ca­tion, di­rect routes and con­nec­tions to the city quar­ters should cre­ate op­ti­mal con­di­tions for the fu­ture, a cre­ative at­mos­phere which favours the in­no­va­tion and in­ter­dis­ci­pli­nary na­ture of the fields – or­gan­ised along a cen­tral axis.

With a to­tal area of 300,000 sqm, the listed Air­port Tem­pel­hof build­ing is still one of the largest build­ings in the world. Since it has been closed to air traf­fic in 2009, the build­ing is hous­ing of­fices and event spaces. In 2013, Moni­teurs drew up the con­cept for an over­ar­ch­ing guid­ance and ori­en­ta­tion sys­tem for the ex­te­rior, in­clud­ing the air­field. The plan­ning for the air­port build­ing was im­ple­mented in 2016. The sign fam­ily is sim­ple and ro­bust and in­te­grates well into the pub­lic space. The ex­tremely com­plex ter­rain and ac­cess to it were clearly struc­tured and in­for­ma­tion hi­er­ar­chies were de­vel­oped.
