In the middle of Berlin Kreuzberg, PANDION OFFICEHOME developed a modern commercial courtyard with contemporary, flexible spaces as an optimal “new work environment” for start-ups and traditional companies alike. Eike Becker Architekten designed a building with an urban loft character. The wayfinding system gives the building complex a visual identity and creates orientation.

Two large com­pa­nies have their head­quar­ters at Auf­bau Haus: the Auf­bau Ver­lag Pub­lish­ing House and Mod­u­lor, a ma­te­ri­al's provider which, as Planet Mod­u­lor, pro­vides ad­di­tional ser­vices to the cre­ative and craft in­dus­tries in the build­ing. The ar­eas of ac­tiv­ity of the two main ten­ants – writ­ing and ma­te­ri­als – pro­vided the start­ing points for the de­sign of the ori­en­ta­tion sys­tem. Moni­teurs’ idea was that the ar­ti­sans of Planet Mod­u­lor should be in­volved in the cre­ation process.

For the new corporate headquarters of Continental AG, the dynamic structural design embodies the development of the company. The corporate campus with its individual buildings, located to the north and south of a major road, are connected by a bridge. This loop, named by HENN, is taken up and formally reflected in the wayfinding system concept. The information, pictograms and texts are created from long arrows and flow dynamically with the building. The loop, which runs through the buildings on the second floor and across the 70 m long bridge, is a dynamic spatial continuum that connects the buildings for the employees. This path is the inspiration for the design of the signage system, but also the challenge in the orientation concept.
