Transparente Schalen

Glass mesh domes as canopies refine buildings and urban building ensembles. This book is the first comprehensive display of design, construction and filigreed calculation of double-curved, wide-span glazed shells. The geometric principles of the design of the shell structures are clear and easily comprehensible, and are easy to use with commercial CAD programme modules. Using real-life examples from the years 1989 to 2014, the latest methods of form-finding calculations and optimisation through the complex interaction of static equilibrium, form and topology are explained practically. The results are intelligent mesh designs with minimal weight.
